We’ve come a long way from Clearasil and Cuticura. It is not that they are ineffective. They’re still on the market, but there are other options available today. If you have a severe case of acne, it’s best to consult a dermatologist, but there are plenty of options for over the counter treatments.
Costs vary, but check the labels. You don’t have to buy the most expensive products. Many of them contain the same active ingredients as their less expensive counterparts.
Differin cream goes deep into the pores to regulate oil production. You only need to use it once a day, preferably at bedtime after cleansing with a mild non-soap cleanser. Apply to your face avoiding eyes and lips and wash hands thoroughly.
Differin is Ok to use with oral antibiotics and non-oily cosmetics. If you use it more than once daily it will not improve your results and may cause side effects. Possible side effects include dryness, peeling, burning, and redness. Do not use with medicated soaps, astringents, peeling agents, Retin A or any acids. Consult your doctor if you experience any adverse reactions to any acne treatments products.
